NANOCARBONS: FROM PHYSICO-CHEMICAL AND BIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
TO BIOMEDICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS
to be held in Acquafredda di Maratea, Italy on 8-13 september 2009.
This conference proposes a series of lectures on physico-chemical and biomedical aspects of carbon nanomaterials, mainly nanotubes, accessible to scientists of different fields, together with more specialized lectures in each domain of interest. Thanks to a multi-disciplinary approach, this conference aims at providing the different actors of carbon nanomaterials research (physicists, chemists, materials scientists, biologists) with the proper knowledge level required both to discuss with the other participants and to understand each other correctly.
Deadline for application is June 14. Applications have to be submitted on line from the above mentioned web site.
Participants will be selected according to the information they have provided in their application form and will be notified by July 1.
FUNDING will be granted to the selected participants for covering the largest part of their conference fees: 450 € will be covered by school funding for participant from Western Europe, North America, Australia, Japan and China, and 600 € for participants working in the other countries. In other words, the actual conference fees are reduced to 300 € and 150 €, respectively. These fees include everything (conference room access, meals and living expenses). A few travel grants will also be attributed to PhD students.
For applicants belonging to the French CNRS: Thanks to CNRS sponsoring, the conference fees and traveling costs of CNRS members can be covered by "formation permanente", see:
If you are interested by this multi-disciplinary school, please register by June 14 on the ESF web site referred to here above. |
